This year, the 2021 WorldSBK Championship will officially start next Sunday May 23th at Aragon Motorland Circuit (if there are no setbacks).
In the 2021 WorldSBK Championship compete on race bikes. These bikes, compared to standard road models, have modifications in some parts such: engine, exhaust, suspension, brakes and others. The minimum weight is 168 kg, the cylinder capacity can vary from 750cc to 1200cc, depending on the number of cylinders in the engine. The motorbikes are now more restricted since the technical regulations changed in 2015.
The minimum age to participate in a race is 18 years old and the maximum is 50.
This year a total of 24 riders will be on the starting grid for each Grand Prix. We will find top names in the category such as Jonathan Rea, Scott Redding and Alex Lowes beside rookies such as Isaac Viñales, cousin of MotoGP rider Maverick Viñales, and Axel Bassani, who is also the youngest rider.
A total of 16 teams will take part in the race with 5 motorbike models of different brands. If there are no last minute changes, these are: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, Ducati Panigale V4 R, Honda CBR1000RR-R, BMW M1000RR and Yamaha YZF-R1.
